This invitation reflects the international interest in the series, which continues to resonate <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>with audiences far beyond the Netherlands.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While festival premieres are traditionally reserved for debut seasons, the selection of M\u00e1xima\u2019s<br \/>\nsecond season underscores the ongoing relevance of the series on a global stage. The international<br \/>\ndistribution is handled by Beta Film, which has successfully sold the first season to more than 70<br \/>\ncountries worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Season two of M\u00e1xima will be available to stream on Videoland Original in the Netherlands from<br \/>\nSaturday, March 14, 2026. We follow M\u00e1xima&#8217;s impressive journey, from the preparations for the<br \/>\nwedding to the coronation ten years later.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Familiar and new faces <\/strong><br \/>\nAlongside the familiar faces of Delfina Chaves as M\u00e1xima, Martijn Lakemeier as Prince Willem<br \/>\nAlexander, Elsie de Brauw as Queen Beatrix and Sebastian Koch as Prince Claus, this season also<br \/>\nintroduces several new characters. Among them are Bram Suijker as Prince Friso, Steef de Bot as Prince<br \/>\nConstantijn, Claire Bender as Mabel and Abbey Hoes as Laurentien. The three sisters Julie, Philou and<br \/>\nNina portray Princesses Amalia, Alexia and Ariane. Jette van der Meij shines as Princess Margriet and<br \/>\nRifka Lodeizen appears as Noor, M\u00e1xima\u2019s new advisor. Princess Juliana and Prince Bernhard will also<br \/>\nbe featured, with the casting for these roles to be announced at a later date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Synopsis season two<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For most princesses, the fairy tale ends with a wedding. For M\u00e1xima, it was only the beginning. From<br \/>\nher marriage to Willem-Alexander to the coronation ten years later, she seeks to find balance between<br \/>\nlove, power and protocol. She soon realizes that keeping the love of the Dutch people is far more<br \/>\ndifficult than winning it. As a passionate Argentine, she must find her way between her own ambitions<br \/>\nand the family dynamics of the Royal House. The new season follows M\u00e1xima\u2019s journey from mother,<br \/>\nwife, and future queen to a woman who finds her own voice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Succes of the first season <\/strong><br \/>\nThe first season of M\u00e1xima has now been sold to more than 70 countries. The series received<br \/>\ninternational attention, including a release on Japan\u2019s public broadcaster and a major launch on HBO<br \/>\nMax in Latin America, where it topped the charts for weeks in countries such as Argentina. The series<br \/>\nalso achieved high viewership numbers in several European countries, including Spain, Italy and<br \/>\nDenmark. The first season received glowing reviews, making this Videoland Original drama series a<br \/>\ntruly unique global hit. The continued international momentum is reflected in the series\u2019 selection<br \/>\nat Miami and the anticipation for the global release of season two.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The second season of the Videoland Original drama series M\u00e1xima will be available in the <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Netherlands to stream weekly starting Saturday, March 14, 2026. The series is produced by Rachel <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>van Bommel of Millstreet Films, in co-production with FBO and Beta Film, with support from the <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Netherlands Film Fund Production Incentive, the Creative Europe MEDIA program and the Belgian <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Tax Shelter.
