13 Jan ANNE+ launches worldwide on Netflix on February 11
As of February 11, Netflix will give the Dutch film ANNE+ a world stage. The film is a sequel to the successful series and tells the story of Anne (Hanna van Vliet), a lesbian in her twenties in Amsterdam who struggles in a recognizable way through major life questions and love troubles. The ANNE+ series received rave reviews both in the Netherlands and abroad for its refreshing style and queer representation. With the arrival of the film to Netflix, the Dutch coming-of-age story is getting the attention of a worldwide audience.
The cast includes Hanna van Vliet, Jouman Fattal, Thorn de Vries, Jade Olieberg, Eline van Gils, Jesse Mensah, Huib Cluistra, Ayla Çekin Satijn, Amy van der Weerden, Anne-Chris Schulting, Hein van der Heijden, Jacqueline Blom, Romana Vrede, Georgina Verbaan, Anna Drijver and Hadewych Minis.
ANNE+ is an initiative of Maud Wiemeijer (screenplay), Valerie Bisscheroux (director) and Hanna van Vliet. The film ANNE+ is produced by Rachel van Bommel and Suzan de Swaan of Millstreet Films, in co-production with Netflix and BNNVARA.
